    Advice on building new PC!

    First of all, hi everyone
I havent been on sysopt for a while. Hello to all!

I am building my self a new PC. All I have at the moment is monitor, keyboard, mouse and speakers.

    I have £760 to spend...

I have put together what seems good to me. Can you look through and give me your opinions and advice on kit. I dont mind if you reccommend if I change the whole system. I just want to get the best system for my money. I am planning buying most of it from ebuyer.com.

    AMD Athlon 64 3500+ (NewCastle) 2.2ghz L2-512kb 939p Box
    Abit KN8 Ultra SKT939 NF4 chipset Dual DDR400 PCI-E SATA ATX
    OCZ Premier 512MB DDR400 PC3200 CL 2.5-3-3-7 With Heatspreader (LIFETIME WARRANTY) (OCZ400512PH) X2
LG GSA4163B 16X DVD±RW Internal IDE (Beige) - Retail Box
    Maxtor 6L250S0 Diamondmax 10 250GB 7200RPM SATA/150 16MB Cache - OEM
Mitsumi 7-in-1 Floppy Drive / Media Drive SM/MS/MD/CF/MM/SD Ivory
    PNY Verto GeForce 6 6600GT AGP8x 128MB GDDR3 (G66600GABF12YPB) Retail Box
Antec Plusview 1000 4x5.25 5x3.5 ATX Tower Case with Side Window
    Antec Psu/12v 400w Atx 2.01 Dual Rails
Antec TriCool 80mm Red Led Fan X3
Microsoft OEM Windows Xp Professional Edition SP2 - 1Pk

    = £756.05
leaves me with £4 (enough for a couple of drinks)

Please post your opions, and help me know what I should change and keep.

    Thanks all

with todays games 256mb vid ram is very well needed.
the Sapphire X800GT uses the same core as the 850xt to so it should clock good to.

    We're not all boys here.

Looking decent now. But a beige drive in an anthracite grey case? I don't think so. Black would be better. Ditto for the ivory Mitsumi combo drive.

Just personal preference, but I'd go with a Seagate drive instead of Maxtor for the sake of reliability.
