I Give up, CPU Upgrade!
I wouldn’t say I'm weak... But I am weak.
Anyway, I give in, I want a new proc for my mini-grade I ordered and new GFX card that should suite me well, but I just caved in and decided to get a new CPU as well.
I was looking over some reviews (old) at Toms Hardware and I think the performance gain moving up from a Athlon XP 2100+ to a 2800+ would be well worth it. I'm literally quivering with anticipation... which is pretty geeky.
I've got an "ASUS A7N8X-E Deluxe" of the older generation (if there were any revampings or major altorations I probably don't have them) I've got 2 512 sticks of good 333 DDR ram - so I'd also be moving from a 133 bus to a 166 bus.

The latter I just noticed was sold out, but anyway. Which of these two is best? Will either supposedly work on my aging system? I note that the Barton model has an increased L2 cash. Or is there another better yet same(ish) in cost solution?

if your motherboard supports it, you might want to take a look at the mobile xps instead.
