Need Help With ProLiant installation of second HDD

HP is telling me I have to buy the same exact drive for my ProLiant M110 at a cost of $211 for an 80 gig drive. I bought a Seagate SATA, and sure enough, it doesn't get recognized. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,

The main requirement for any RAID setup with multiple drives as striped is that you have to have identical drives since they will be backing up each other and if and when you do need to replace them, you will have to have an exact identical drive as a replacement. Using anything else would only be asking for headaches!
(Multiple drive RAID setups need to have identical drives in order for them to work properly when they have to be backed up using striping method).

    Thanks!

But what if I don't want a RAID drive and simply wanted a seperate drive for additional storage and not back up. What can't I get the ProLiant to even see the drive.
    Thanks again!
