R9800 Or X700
ok so i Orderd both a ATI Radeon 9800 Pro and a Powercolor Radeon X700 Non pro to install in my system, now the 9800 Pro has 340MHZ Memory and is 256-Bit, but the X700 has a better faster GPU And has 2 more vertex pipelines so o dont really know which to go with. should i go pro because it 256 bit of should i install the X700 with the 2 extar pipes, i am mostly playing HL2/Source and NFS:U2. Which will be the greater of the two, and there both AGP and were order on newegg.com

If I had to guess, I would say that the X700 will be a slight bit faster. I would go with the X700 Pro if it were me, but the Radeon 9800 Pro is still a force to be reckoned with.

I would say it's a toss up, but slight edge to the x700. the x700pro would be faster than a 9800pro.

Umm, im assuming you have a AGP cuz im pretty sure they dont have pci-e 9800pros. I was having a similar debate. Here is the answer to your question my son. Take your pick of two cards that are cheaper and capable of unrivaled performance by both those skimpy cards.
$129 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814122212
$165- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814140045
Both are 6800s non-Ultra. Both have at least 4 pixel pipes locked and a few vertex shaders locked. The the core clock speeds are lower than both 9800 and x700, memory is lower too. But they OC super well (many are claiming 375-core and 850-mem right outta the box), can be unlocked to 16 pixel pipes and 6 vertex pipes and thats all on stock cooling. All that basically makes it a 6800GT indisguise. The BIGGEST problem that I have personally is that they are 128mb cards, but they do have a 256-bit bus which is great. My take is....until im ready to buy a 64-bit system im not gonna get any pci-e, not to mention my system runs fine anyway. And I am kinda waiting for Intel to get their foot in the game. So why upgrade everything when I just need new video? After a lot of research I settled on the Apollo. It has a beefier HSF and looks a lil nicer than the Leadtek. But if you are on a budget, this is the AGP card for you.

If you already have both cards, why not run some benchmarks and play a few games to see which one is better?
