OE 6 links won't open in Firefox

    It's popped up once again...

Outlook Express (XP SP2, OE Version 6...all patches and updates) will not open firefox 1.0.6 when I click on a link in an email...(99% of the time, a thread update from Sysopt... )

Yes...I've made sure Firefox is my default browser. I've even changed to IE, rebooted, changed back to Fox, rebooted. Still nothing.

A while back this happened, I googled and searched the Fox help site, and there was a registry edit that got me back to normal in seconds.

Some one wanna shine some light on this for me?

Sorry...wouldn't let me edit the first post...

In addition, I should mention I use Outlook 2003 as my primary email, and the links within Outlook open up the fox perfectly...in a new tab...

And just for the hey, I went to Mozilla, downloaded 1.0.6 again, reinstalled. Same thing...

If you change the default browser back to IE, do links then open in IE?

    Here's the reg tweak

but this can also be caused by a popup stopper.

    Thanks...Tunzy.

I had this registry entry. I deleted it, rebooted, recreated it...still no go.

To answer your other question, If I select IE as my default browser, it works fine...

I'll dig deeper in Firefox. It's worked fine in the past, though...

Links from within other programs...such as Word, etc., open up just fine. It's just an OE thing. I even reset all the default apps again, reboot, reset, reboot. No better...

Last time, it was a regedit that did it...worked like a champ. I want to say it was the upgrade from 1.0.1 to 1.0.2...or something along those lines.

I even double and triple checked to make sure all my extensions were up to date...they were.

Hello dajogejr, not sure what exact steps you have tried already but
there's a few solutions / things you can check:

    - Default Browser

    - Thread 1
    - Thread 2

.. there's also this free utility.

Some very nice finds indeed, Fancy.
I'll have to give 'em a whirl when I get to work tomorrow...(Home PC works just fine...go figure... )

    Thanks as always...

    Well...Progress, but not fixed.

It will now open up a network drive folder from the link within OE, instead of the "Nothing at all" from before.

Fancy...I'll try that free app, and let you know.
