Norton systemworks 2005 premier... disappering icons

I just installed Norton Systemworks 2005 Permier on a clients Dell 2400 and ALL the icons disapperaed from the desktop and the wallpaper disappeared too!

I have never had anything like this happen before, scared the poop out of me!!

I tried to reach Sysmantec but at $30.00 a call...I don't think so.

Has anyone ever had this happen to them or know of any bugs?

I was able to go into WINDOWS EXPLORER and the programs were there and just showed the client how to make shortcuts to the desktop. Programs all work fine.

    Thanks

If it's XP, have him use System Restore.

    BPB,

yes its XP home edition. I'll give him the info, If he has system restore turned on. I tried using "last good know config" and that didn't help.

    Thanks

Last Known Good is only for instances when Windows can't start at all.

    BPB,

A friend of mine said that he had the same thing happend to him a long time ago. It scared him too. He said just wait about 15 to 20 minutes and all icons will come back.

    Weird.....

    Thanks
