Shame on you NVidia... They seem to have a thing for making junk AA and AF... I think NVidia is lazy.

What do they mean by texture "shimmering"?

Fast response...is it possible that it truly was a bug? The whole 5800 Ultra scandal was a LOOONNNNGGGG, dragged out process and only really was forgotten (at least out of the limelight) when the 5900 was released. Moreover, the previous scandal involved the whole line of Geforce FX cards, vs. this one card. I'm skeptical, I'll wait for one driver release or two and see the 7800GT(X)'s performance there before I pass judgment.

man. I never noticed that on my 6800 GT. I may have to test that when I get home... Actually, I'm not sure I want to. I love my 6800 GT so much.

Me wonders why when it's about Nvidia it's immediately posted, but not when it's ATI.

At least Nvidia fixed their problem. The shimmering obviously didn't last for long, so Nvidia is fine. ATI, however, is playing the idiots side of the game here. Not only did they copy Nvidia, but they also failed to mention the problem when it was noticed. Coincidence? Probably not.
