    wifi and older thinkpad

Anyone know of a site that can tell me if my thinkpad I 1400 series with win 98 can be compatible with new wifi technology. I have a pcmcia slot, but am trying to find out what wifi pcmcia card to buy that will work with my older system. Want to be able to check into most motels that offer wireless internet and be able to use my laptop. Thank you.

Any WIFI card that can work with the Laptop would connect to any regular (as long as it is not WPA secured) WIFI Network.

If your ThinkPad PCMCIA slot is 32bit any card that has Win98 drivers would work.

If it is a 16bit slot you would have to try to find an old 16bit card.

Proxim use to make a card called PROXIM RangeLAN-DS there was a 16bit version that works with Win98 you might find one on eBay.
