Post your CS:Source Video Stress Test results
Ok. Some interest has come about for measuring your computers capabilities for the Source engine, used to power Half-Life 2 and Counter Strike: Source. Therefore, I am going to start a thread where people can brag about their performance in this benchmark. Here are rules:
Post your system specs (processor, ram, and video card are a must, but other components would be helpful)
Settings MUST be @ 1280 x 1024 resolution, every setting must be maxed out, and Antialiasing should be 4x and Anistropic filtering 8x.
I will post my specs later. screenshots for proof of score are not reqired, but it will say something if you have an outlandish score.
Bah, I can't run it that high.
Here are my results though.
Running CSS Video Stress Test at 1024x768, 2xAA, 2xAF
Athlon XP 2700+ (200x10.5)
ATi Radeon 9800 Pro 128mb
1GB PC3200 RAM
Where's a link to the test download?
Improvise - Adapt - Overcome
SafeSearch is off
You need to have Counterstrike: Source. The visual stress test is part of the game.
Here is my score (w/ proof)
2.8C Ghz P4 (Northwood)
1.5 GB PC 3200
PNY 6800 GT (OC'd to Ultra speeds 400/1100)
350-watt Antec PSU
run @ standard test specs
4x AA/8x AF
All settings @ highest and fully reflective
I just love how this generation of video cards are so powerful.
Come on guys! Lets see some of your scores. I'm sure some of you guys with the 7800 GTX's and the X8xx series of Radeon cards can push out some impressive scores, so get them on here!
Just to be fair, I ran another test @ MJC's settings:
1024 x 768 2xAA 2xAF (everything else highest)
not quite as impressive as the other score, but still respectable.
ok this is at the first test settings. Im a little slow at figuring out how to make a pic for you so. I will try. Im going to run the test again with the other settings to see the difference.
ok here are the results of the next test. looks like I got about 25 more fps on the second one.
Amd 64 3500+
Evga 6800 ultra
500 Watt PSU
Your scores show how this game is really CPU limited. Very interesting.
38.26 FPS On madpistols criteria
54.44 FPS when I was on max settings (6x Antialiasing, 18x Anistropic filtering) Go figure
Wait for vertical sync really slows me down
1.5 gigs Kingston PC3200 Ram
PNY 6600GT 128 meg
Abit AS8 Mobo
80 gig 7200 rpm Western Digital Hard drive
Very true. I can no longer brag about my 2.8Ghz P4, since it seems that at least 3.0Ghz P4 or an Athlon 64 3000+ is the norm now. but then you've got a few people out there with 3800's and FX-55's, and there is no competing with those kinds of chips.
