    Dell 8200 Memory

    I have a Dell 8200 1.8Ghz system ... it currently has 512MB of RAM in 2 256MB sticks
It is said to use Rambus RDRAM aka Samsung MR16R 1628AF0-CK8

    It is PC800 @ 400Mhz

I might want to expand it to a full 1 GB if the cost is not too high.
To max it out at 2GB I would need to replace my existing 2 256MB units
    with 2 512MB units

Let me know what you have & cost, then I will decide what to do

    Thanks

    Bargain Rambus is scarce and
    New is VERY expensive

I would sell the system and build or buy new.

    good luck you never know
someone may have a system that has a bad mainboard
and has this ram sitting in a closet.

Yes, I know new is very costly at around $200 per
    512MB stick from Newegg (samsung MR16R PC800)
which is what my pc currently has (in 2 256MB sticks)

I am not yet ready to upgrade the whole pc just to
add ram ... everything else is working perfectly &
adding ram was just an idea to make multiple open
    windows work easier

    Thanks
