    forgot router password

I can't remember my router password/username. Is there anything I can do other than reset it? Id hate to reset it because then I'll lose net access until I res-et up everything.

just reset the router. you're basically asking us how to hack into a router. that's a no-no.

router p-word redux (or dammit mods that's not what i was asking)

I wasn't asking how to hack a router, I was asking if there is a way to do a soft reset (i.e. just the password and stuff) rather than a full blown reset. It's a linksys beww11s4,

no there isn't. that's why I said you have to do the full reset. write it down next time.

You can try the default setup unless you changed it. Otherwise there isn't anything else to do besides a reset.

you got lucky. it's nothing personal, but asking us how to retrieve a password is not kosher. I know you had a legitimate request, but the information could be used in a negative way.

a soft reset will NOT reset the password. it's just a reboot.

By the way, Linksys routers allow you to back up your settings to a hard drive. Maybe you should do that now?
