Al passed away this past Thursday after struggling with an illness for several years.

Al came over from Hardware Central (a sister site where he had over 12,000 posts) as a volunteer to help me out when JupiterMedia first bought SysOpt.

He was a gentle guy and really knew his stuff when it came to computers.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

May he rest in peace and God bless his soul. He was 55 years old.

Al was a close friend of mine and I knew him for over 6 years.

We Where both Moderators on the Sister site Hardware Central.

I got the bad news this morning from his Son Josh and passed it along to Steve.

Al was an "interesting" person. I enjoyed reading his comments when it came time to 'chastise' a member or close a thread. Al was totally fair, but firm in his decisions. He and I shared a few "off the wall" beliefs.

RIP ole man..you will be missed.

Yes Al was a great Moderator, we used to double team some of the off the wall threads and topics backing each other up putting out fires when needed.
