XFX 6600 GT Cooling Fan Not So Good ?
I have heard the video card's cooling fan doesn't work well enough. Is there any way I can avoid overheating ? Would buying a better case fan help ?

you can buy an aftermarket cooler. the AGP version is a little weird because of the HSI chip. there are links to coolers in the "best of" thread.
the cooler is sufficient unless you plan to overclock the bejesus out of it.

The other thing thats helps alot on retail HSF is you can pop it off clean it up and put some arctic sliver5 on it. They do a crappy job of putting the paste on at the factory.

Well I'm not an overclocker, does that mean I'll be okay with this card ? BTW the store clerk recommends a 420 watt psu, do I really need that? I was thinking of a 350 watt psu since I'm kinda on the budget here (unless I had an extra paycheck).

What else is in your system - drives, processor, cards, etc. A GOOD 350 should be able to hold it's own long as you don't have too much running off it. If you have a couple optical drives, an A64 or prescott and a couple HDD's, your REALLY pushing it (I'd be surprised if it even started actually) - and it'll blow with some nasty results. I'd recommend a 420 - an Antec 420 isn't that expensive and it's a solid PSU - well long as you get it online and save 10-30 bucks of BB and CUSA prices.

a 420W for a 6600GT? a good quality 350 should be ok.

On that website, it said it was designed for AGP version 3.0!
My MOBO AGP version is 2.0, would it still work ?
