    bigger performance booste

    my current system is:

    athlon xp 2500 @ 3200
    1 gig pc 3200 ddr
    radeon 9800 pro

    which do you guys think would be a larger performance boost for me... getting a next gen vid card (i.e x800) or getting a 64 bit proc / motherboard... i'm looking to spend about 400 dollars, any input is welcome, thanks in advance.

    That depends, but Word certainly doesn't need any more CPU power! If you game, get an x800. Be sure it's AGP and not PCIe.

    Video Card. I had an identical setup at one time. Went from a 9800Pro to a 6800GT and the gains where huge.

    well i just ordered an x800 xt all in wonder off newegg, thanks for the input guys, made my decision A LOT easier as I have been pondering this for quite some time

    isnt x800 a pci express card?
