Fedora Core 3 Bootloader options
I have Fedora Core 3 dual boot with Windows 98SE. I would like to switch the default boot from Linux to Windows. I chose Linux as default boot in original installation, and would now like to switch without re-installing. It would probably work the same with RedHat 8.0. I think I did this a couple of years ago, and it was easy, but I forgot how I did it.
Has anyone done this?

Mod w/ an attitude
You need to edit the grub file.

O.K. I'm looking into it right now. If anyone can remember line by line instructions on how that edit is accomplished it would be much appreciated.

Log on as root, open /boot/grub/grub.conf
If default=0 change it to 1
If it is already 1 change it to 0
save and exit

Thanks much,
In my case,;
default = 1 boots to windows,
default = 0 boots to linux.
I vaguely recall doing this from a terminal session a while back, but I don't remember how I did it.
I'm not very far along editing in terminal sessions in linux, prefer GUI when possible, even then I do better when people take the time to 'show me'.
thx, again.

If you would like to become comfortable at a Linux terminal, do a Google search for the Rute Book.

Excellent.
I got as far as vimtutor.
I would like to be able to edit the grub.conf from a terminal session.
Just in case.
