    IDE cable

Is it ok to reverse IDE cable? The master connector connect to the the board and the board connector to the master drive. Because the connector from motherboard to the slave (center connector) are longer. Sory for a noob question but i dont want to mess anything.

Why, are you using a mini shuttle type case? Usually if the ribbon plug is blue ended it goes to the mobo, may not fit the other way around depending on notches of plugs. You could just fold or bundle the long area and tie off with a cable tie to shorten no need to reverse it.

Thats not it. I want to connect the longer wire to the CDRW at the top and hardisk at the bottom. The shorter one is not enough. I think the connector are pretty much the same so it will fit, but im not sure if its ok especially if you set your drives to cable sellect.
