I have a 102 Page print out on the wonders of "Gentoo" thats what my server just about runs on....... I have no idea how to install software or anything with Linux...... I never seem to get the time to sitdown & read tho' I tried readin in bed but I just fall asleep & wake up wiv papers everywhere

I wouldn't mind adding Einstien to my Linux machine, (It has seti/boinc on it allready) but I have no idea where to start (Thats what happens when other ppl set up ya stuff for ya)

If you already have BOINC installed and working its really simple. I'll assume you have BOINC running from your Home directory and its named boinc.

    Open a terminal and type

    exec ~/boinc -attach_project http://einstein.phys.uwm.edu/ &
To help clarify whats going on "exec" is executing boinc which is located at ~/ and then to attach the einstein@home project. The & symbol isn't required, but I use it.

There are people better suited at explaining things in Linux here, you may need to consult them if there are any questions.

Oh, and check out http://boinc.berkeley.edu/client_unix.php if you want to learn more.

Tanks,, yeah I was wondering about that Seti,, couldn't get it to start, then decided the server was down as my other machines were still running the classic seti and were idle too, just finished my first Einstein unit. Cool

I dunno why, but I'm not showin on the list, Maybe cuz I just finished a unit or summat???

It takes awhile for the stats page to get all the data collected and everything. You'll be on there in a day or two.
