    6800GT recomendations

As you know I had to RMA my 6800GT the other day and i am know in the process of getting a replacement for my XFX6800GT from the nothing but the best newegg.com who were very helpfull in the process and XFX being total garbage, they didnt have to replace my card because I had gottin it 3 months ago, but when I told them the trouble i was having contacting XFX they took the time out to help me which is rare in this day and age maybe its because i spend so much there , so more power to newegg, anyways, they are offering me a new XFX or a 6800GT of my choice, as you know im not going to get an XFX, I was thinking maybe a BFG or an MSI any other ones you could recomend. my max is 420bucks as it was the cost of my XFX at the time of pruchase.

    thanks a mill in advance.

BFG 1st choice. PNY would be my second but only because PNY does have good customer support. They are fairly new in the video card market.

    BFG has a lifetime warranty.

Gainward first for sure. I'm hearing mixed reviews about the new BFGs. The new dual fan heatsink doesn't seem to cut the mustard.

PNY or evga are ok. They are reference cards.

I would avoid Leadtek and Asus. MSI had a bad batch of PCI3 cards, but the AGP ones should be ok.

I don't see anything wrong about Leadtek or Asus except the price (usually) ...

I've been hearing about a lot of Leadtek RMAs.

Asus has some shady configurations, including a 128MB GT which is basically a GT core with 6800NU memory.

    1Gainward.
    2BFG.
    3XFX.

Gainward always have sick fan and ram sinks..good for overclocking..

I would go for a golden sample if you got the option..

i was going to get a leadtek..But after reading this thread my hopes have been shattered. My first choice has always been a gainward but a leadtek being 40$ cheaper and instock has obviously grasped my attention.

Go for the BFG 6800 GT OC, which can be found for $400. If there's a BestBuy retail outlet in your area, check their shelves for the card. Chumbo deals BFG online.

I'm very happy with my BFG GT, which OC's nicely to 400 MHz/1080 MHz with little heat increase.

Gainward has great customer service. I had one of their 4200 Ti cards that went bad because of faulty capacitors. They replaced the card promptly, even though it was well past warranty.

I posted a link about it a while ago, since someone wanted to know if there was a GT with a fan on top of the card.

Nice looking card. I would probably go with the MSI over the GB card.

Well I orderd the MSI, now its the waiting game, I havent played a game in almost 2 weeks on my system, im going into withdrawls.

This card has some sort of fan control which can go from 2800RPM tp 4000RPM it will be interesting to see what the temps are on it.

I think I am going with the leadtek considering i cant find a Gainward anywhere..at all.

The newegg reviews seem to be legit for the most part so Im hoping the card runs good. Will post with follow ups.
