looking for a cheap socket a motherboard

pref under $20 shipped.. I dont mind if it is used as long as it works. 133mhz fsb is a must, ddr is a must.. agp 4x or more is a must.. um 166 or 200 fsb would be even better but I dont know if it is doable t_t

I just spent like $50 buying the rest of the stuff I thought I needed to get a system for my brother together for school and such just to find out my a7n8x is perm dead.

this is my budget fav now. don't take a chance on used ebay junk or an unreputable company. Get new & you can always upgrade the proc later.

ty for the input but I dont really have a need for IGP, I was sort of looking at the other one they have that doesnt have IGP but I'm wondering how well it will overclock? The other one is $30 shipped but I could find an a7n8x on ebay for less probably.

I built a couple dozen systems with the M863G motherboard. Its not an overclocker, but it gets the job done. You can't beat it for the price.

Yeh I'm seriously thinking about getting a pcchips motherboard now, anyone know if it will take an XP-M? I was gonna put my 2500+ in it, and since that chip runs at 133mhz fsb by default an overclock to 166mhz fsb will be plenty. (using pc2100 ram anyway..)

Are you sure that the 2500 doesn't run at 166/333? The motherboard isn't meant for overclocking. Keep that in mind before buying it.

100%. The desktop 2500 runs at 166 and the mobile at 133.

PCCHIPS are just great for budget systems. But dont expect temperature monitors or anything fancy.

I used a lot of PC Chips boards back in the socket 7 days. Nearly all of them were jumperless and auto detect the cpu. Any overclocking was nearly impossible with those boards.

www.pricewatch.com has numerous socket A boards with 266 FSB and an AGP slot starting at $23 shipped. Lots of choices under $30.
