    Dying Radeon 9700 pro?

My card is showing signs of...dying!
Any suggestions? Have checked fan and cable connections, power and card seating...drivers new and old...

Have a look at this screen....

can't read it or can't see it...there is nothing to read, just screen with lots of blue lines over it and it appears to be getting worse.

Yeah, either the core or the memory is going bad. Sorry to say, the card will die sooner or later.

Could it possibly be a bad cable or even a monitor issue?

My old Viewsonic gets a green tint sometimes but a jiggle to the cable fixes it.

it looks like the memory may be screwed up
My radeon 9800 pro had similar problems like yours. If the card is still covered under the warranty, just send it back to their RMA service, and they'll most likely send you one back.

I had the same exact problem when I had my Radeon 9700 Pro, made by PowerColor. The problem persist despite the card was running to specification. I cleaned the fan of dust and made sure the memory and gpu were running to spec., I made sure the card was not over heating, the card was not over clocked, and I tried several Catalyst drivers. Despite all that, the problem still persist. My Radeon 9700 Pro eventually died. I only had the card for 9 month when it stopped working.

It'll be a matter of weeks or few months when your card will die. You eventually have to buy another card to replace it.
