step one: buy the game.
step two: install it.
step three: register it, and get it authenticated.
step four: play it till your fingers bleed.
what's hard about that?
How many millions of people have bought the game, and how many do you hear about having problems? probably less than 1%, but the ones that make the noise are the ones having problems. millions of people have already bought and played it with no problems that you'll probably never even hear of.
the argument of less copy protection = more money in sales is just not valid.
no matter how much it costs to add effective copy protection to a game (and lets face it, it's done pretty well so far) the extra profits from doing it would far outweigh the cost of implementing it.
I've already said it, but I'll say it again, I'm happy and proud to be one of the legitimate millions who've paid for the game. It's without a doubt the best game in history, and I'll be playing it for a long time to come, which makes it a much better investment than any other game. It's already had 3 times more hours out of me than Doom 3 ever did and it's going to get a lot more.
