Cpu Usage 100% when trying to connect to ISP

    Hi,

Just 2 hours before i did a windows update, the installer asked to restart the system. I did and then afterwards whenever i try to connect to my ISP, CPU usage goes up to 100%.

System stops/hangs for few minutes(for that period nothing works: mouse icon doesn't move, on pressing any keys on Keyboard the system beeps...) and then after a while i am connected and everything is back to normal

I used adware,Spybot but nothing came up in the results.

AVG is still running in background.

    Any ideas??

    TIA

    ooops my OS: 2kpro....

in the pic the system is actually stuck at "Registering your computer on the network....."
