    DVD-RW Problem

I have a dvd-rw 4x drive. I have been using Nero to burn my dvd discs. The problem is, when I went to burn them four of them stopped before the burn process finished. Now when I put those four discs in the drive, all that it does is spin, the computer just keeps churning. I did use another program to burn one and that one came out fine.

My question is, what do I do to make those four discs work again?

    Thanks

Once the burn is ruined on burn-once disks, there's nothing you can do to change it.

Nero sometimes doesn't allow burning of copy-protected DVD's, even for back-up purposes! DVD Shrink 32 does.

You'll really have to redo them...

The discs where not copy protected, it was just a data cd. From what I have read, these four discs are coasters now. Well, I quess I won't be using nero for my dvd burning anymore.

    Thanks for the info.

Nero works the best for burning DVDs.

I would blame the DVD burner or the media instead of the software.

I've had a couple of failed DVD burns from Nero6 in the past! I only use it for CD-R\RW's now.

Here's a good data DVD burner!

Once the burn process has started, even if incomplete, the disc is useless.

    You could:

Update your firmware as this may remedy unknown problems with the optical drive.
    Reduce the burn speed.
Carry out a simulation burn first.
    Use quality media, e.g., DataSafe.
    Update and correctly configure Nero
Increase the HDD buffer related to Nero
Use DVD-RW (data less durable but reusable).
Get to know Nero better as it is a powerful program with many features and concepts to understand.

Sometimes there is no obvious reason.
