ouch!
MINE WAS SUPER BAD WOW! 1498
I have a Athlon Xp 2800 with 1 gig of 2700 ram
7200 rmp Hard drive, and a ATI All IN Wonder 9600xt 128 mb of ram (my understanding is that this card and ram are clocked a little higher than a regular/non All In Wonder 9600xt) Even with that said my results suck! LOL.

Thats not that terrible. A 9800pro system usualy is in the 2500 range, so that sounds about right for a 9600.

Okay, I may have been on to something there when I thought 3dmark 05 likes lots of memory.
I did a Project Search & Compare for all X800Pros on P4's in a broad range (3200Mhz - 2000Mhz). Every single person above my score has 1024MB or more. The first score within this search parameter that does not have at least 1024MB of RAM is me with 512MB. Then following my score are a number of pc's yet with 1024MB then you start getting into the thick of 512MB systems.
Conclusion: for higher scores in 3dmark 05 you need 1024MB of RAM.

Which is good, because for improved performance in games your going to need 1024mb.

strange, when i play doom3 in winxp or win98 i nearly allways have 400mb free, the least was ~350mb in xp (i used cpucool to monitor the free memory, but all programs i use (including windows system monitor) report the same for it, so it must be right). so there must be something wrong w/ your system.
i normally have more free memory in 98. and the performance is also much better. like in most levels i can play / 1024x768@high details in 98 (but only on levels before hell), but in xp only@low details, althought the driver settings and also the driver versions are the same in both oses. i can only play@high details in recruit mode, but i never player on a higher mode in xp, because i only play in 98 since the first time i tried it because of the performance.
if you want to know, how you can make doom3 run under 98, look in the doom3 tweaking guide in the games forum.

I fixed my K7VME + Radeon 9800 pro issue(!).
Soyo K7VME
Athlon XP 3000+
512MB PC3200 @ PC2700 cas2.5
Windows 2000pro
other stuff
newest score to add to my collection thereof:
3dmark 05
2209
not a good score. I'll have to do some tweakage.

Greymack posting a scoce without system specs is no better than posting a random number.
