My system just scored a 4774 on the 3D Mark 2005 Benchmark. This seems a little low. Any suggestions for improving this without overclocking the CPU and graphics card? 3DMark 2001 result was 19723.
My system:
AMD64 3500+
MSI Board, 939 Socket
GeForce 6800GT SLIe
1 Gig DDR RAM
7200 RPM 80 Gig Drive, SATA
WinXP Home
You should be a little more precise when listing your rig specs. With those scores I take it you don’t have a pair of 6800gt cards running in sli. You have a pci express 6800gt correct?
I would think something is up because I get higher scores with out oc’in my 6800gt. Did you go into your driver settings and put it on performance and turn off vsync and aa\af?

I am running a single 6800GT PCIe.
Driver 7.1.8.4
I just ran the test again turning off vsync, aa/af and changing it to performance. My score dropped to 4753.
That’s within about 80 points of what I get. Since you’re not oc’in the video card I don’t think there’s much to worry about there. It’s your 01 marks that grabbed my attention. Defrag your hdd and shutdown completely, turn her back on and give it another whirl.
Edit: If you want to see what I got my score is at the top of page 18.
I might just have to get back in to this benching game again since I got a new card and all. When I built my first computer I was addicted to 3dmark. My g\f told me that every time she looked at the computer it was doing the same thing. I knew I was benching a lot when she even knew the order the tests went in.
Did your gf like the pretty pictures lol.......bet she liked the one with the butterflys in 3dmark03 lol....only kidding i dont want to be stereotyping her....
but it would be pretty easy for a 6800gt to beat my X800 pro score....that score is about the max i could get my score upto. need to OC the CPU to get a better score, but first i finish my lab report!!
Actually it was more along the lines of “Oh no, not this again”. lol
I’m probably gonna order that Arctic Cooler for my card this week since my stock hsf on my BFG is about good as no hsf with a house fan blowing on it. After I get that on I’ll start posting some bench scores for ya. I promise I won’t get addicted, just enough to ensure I’m running at peak performance.
