Games crashing lately...
I've upgraded my video card from a Geforce2 MX400 to a Geforce 3 Ti500. My graphics driver says version 6.1.7.7 from 7/15/2004. I have DirectX 9.0c as well.
Lately, my games have been crashing to the desktop in the middle and saying "General Protection Fault". I'm mainly playing slightly older games like Medal of Honor AA and Raven Shield/Athena Sword.
Is this due to the fact that I have an older card with a newer driver set and latest DirectX, or do you think I have something wrong with the card or PC itself??
I'm getting pretty close to switching to an XBOX....

When you installed your new video card, did you completely remove the old set of video card drivers before you put the new ones on?

I did a complete reinstallation of Windows XP first - just to make sure.

Yeah - I always do this since I have onboard sound, I figure I should install the chipset drivers first.

I have a geforce fx 5900 and I installed everything fresh as well. But I have the same exzact problem with every game. I upgraded my BIOS and it seemed to help. But no one is able to help me. My suggestion is get a radeon next time you get a video card. My friend has a radeon 9600 that he let me borrow and it worked wonders on my computer. until he took it back.
