    Format

    Ok..here's the deal:
Back in the ole days, it was easy to use the format command and get the job done.
I copied from XP the "format.exe" to a floppy and went to my buddy's house to help him start over with his drive.
Well...it didn't work. I ended up having to go thru fdisk and delete his partition to get the results desired.

    What's up?
Where can I find a format command that will work from a floppy or cd??
    TIA

You could have created a system disc from the floppy diskette applet.

are you sure the partitions aren't ntfs? you should boot from the winxp cd. you can partition and format during the setup. you can also go to the recovery console and run diskpart.
