    All files same extenion?

Have a pc running Windows 2000, someone did something to cause all files and applications to open with the same file extenion. I've gone into files and folders, those are right, as if they are opening with the correct extenion....
Any ideas on how to get this back?

    Do you mean file "association?"

So how is windows booting up?

    What program loads "all" files?

    Give us some specific examples.

Windows is booting up normal. Sorry I didn't make myself clear on what I was saying...
Example of whats happening: all items on the desktop open in Adobe...when going to start: programs-> everything has an Adobe icon beside it.

I C, might be just the links for shortcuts.

Try removing the Adobe association with the shortcuts

go to the registry fix the association in
    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\lnkfile

if the links from HTTP are also affected do the same
