AIM - Clicking on links gives "unknown handler"

When I click on a link in aol instant messenger I get an error message that gives the link and says program not found.

When I click "ok" on that error message, a box pops up and is titled "unknown handler" and it gives you a spot to browse for the handler for "http"

Firefox is set up as my default browser, Ive made sure it is and it works in other programs. Ive also set IE as the default browsers and it does not help.

I have uninstalled AIM and run regcleaner and installed AIM again to no avail. I havent been able to find any help on google although some other people have seemed to have had the same problem.

    TIA,
    Frank

PS - the link eventually does work, I just keep getting these error messages
