I had 3x optical, 1x IDE HDD & 2x SATA drives until the weekend gone! I couldn't live w\ keep selecting the right drive in Nero (too many drives gets silly IMO), so I removed the 48x Plextor CD-RW (which only RAID 0 could keep up with), put it in my second machine, removed the 12x Teac CD-RW from that and am about to sell it to a friend with only a 4x HP writer. I no longer have to think which drive I'm loading my DVD disks into.

guys!!!
you are missing the boat.....try pioneer ao8/dvr108 (oem model)
both are 16X dvd burners....dual layer....fast cd burners.
also pioneer gives you a list of media rated at a lower speed that will burn 16x.
AND its burns BOTH +r and -R at that speed....go pioneer!!!!!
AND it sells for under $100.oo just look up in pricewatch.com

Hooya!
This kind of burns my rear..as i got the NEC 2500A model when it came out and now the newer dual layer..and or higher speed drives are even cheaper than what i paid for mine not too long ago......
I should have stopped and listened to what i really need at the moment as I don't do much DVD burning now.....and teh read speed on this thing leaves something to be desired.....but it burns real good and fast....
