Cannot change FSB to 100 as the BIOS only allows 133mhz as the lowest and 250 the highest.
May go to older BIOS to get to 100Mhz BIOS
May put in my old 1400Mhz Thunderbird CPU as I'm running a 'not officially supported' 2100XP+ on this board.
Most people specifically resinstalled the OS after installing the CPU though to make sure nothing got corrupted.

BTW, as an FYI- all my voltages are within spec and system and cpu temps are pretty low.

Actually that's a very good idea, but it still means there is a bios, hardware, or corrupt file issue at normal bus speed, but perhaps if windows does load it will work it out.

Zap it first>>>Download here:http://service.boulder.ibm.com/storage/hddtech/zap.exe >>>>Fdisk>>>>Then just insert 2000 or xp disk....it will format it for you.

reset pnp os to disabled / no
i have found some motherboards wont work if acpi is enabled and pnp os is also
i don't have the ms knowledgebase number, but microsoft recommends pnp os to be set to no. i think it's because the system board is re-alocating interrupts at the same time windows is.
can't hurt to try

That link doesn't work. URL not found and I did a search for ZAP and came up with SQUAT.
Drive Fitness Test has an erase function and that wiped the drive clean.
Win2K cannot usually find the hard drives, so it cannot format it.
That's the primary problem with installing a fresh Win2K - it locks when seeking the drives or...it locks after finding the drive and hitting enter to go install.
It's only been maybe 3 out of 10 attempts to install where W2K has installed any setup files.

Thanks. I now have PnP sett to OFF and have always left it to OFF except when I went to get that freakin' mouse working.
I will double check the setting.

I'm going to put back in my older 1.4hz Thunderbird CPU and see if that helps any.

BINGO!
That was it!
I put in my 1.4 Tbird and WinXP installed like butter.
I'm glad I didn't throw that CPU away!
Well, at least now I know what the issue was.
I also diagnosed most of my hardware so I'm confident it's all good.
Just 6 stressful days out of my life.
Thanks for the suggestions anyways, folks.
