Presario 4660 no vid or post

I put in a cdrw in a Compaq Presario 4660 and it didnt boot so I unhooked it still does not boot.. when I turn on the pc the cd-rom seeks and HHD spins but does not seek on the floppy, no video/ no post on start up the keyboard does not lghit up. It looks like it goes straight to sleep mode when booted and I cant get it out of it. There are two buttons on the case one like a half moon and is always lit and the other is smaller maybe a reset button. i have pressed them for a while to see if any thing would happen but nothing did ... they said there were no problems before hand with it

Reset the CMOS/BIOS.

Check the processor and RAM. Make sure they are seated.

as it turns out the onboard video died. put in an old pci video card bang booted with no issues.
