In my MSI KT6V (VIA KT600 chipset) motherboard manual, there is a matrix with support issues regarding CPU FSB settings and memory speed. There is no jumper that I can see that can change the FSB of the processor from 100 Mhz to 133 Mhz, like you're able to do on other boards. I assume then that you have to change it in BIOS. But the matrix is telling me that a FSB setting at 100 Mhz won't support DDR333 or DDR400 ram. And 100 Mhz is set to default if I recall.
I have a stick of DDR400 ram in the motherboard. Doesn't this seem a bit strange that you supposedly can't use this kind of ram at that setting? Or did I miss something here...
Any help on this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
EDIT: Never mind. The problem didn't end up hindering me from going into bios and changing the default. I only thought that it might, and I was thinking that if it did, it was pretty lame to restrict someone like that. Glad to see that it appears to only apply after it's posted!
