hmm im not sure what your asking here ...

elabarote a lttle more what is your problem what are you trying to do?

if your just trying to defragment your drive in safe mode start up safe mode how you normally would and the disk defragment utility should be accesible the same way it is in non-safe mode

    hope that helps
procrastinang and masturbating are two of the same

it feels good for the time being but in the end your just ****ing yourself

My guess is this workaround will work in ME
    http://content.techweb.com/winmag//fixes/defrag.htm

Save the reg file to disk and point Task Scheduler to the file.

Be sure to backup the registry beforehand, and set a system restore point.

AFAIK, the only way to startup in Safe Mode for any version of Windows is manually .

Hi all, Thanks for the posts. To elabarote, I'm working on a frinds
PC, it was all fouled up with spy ware and the like but I'v got most
of that taken care of now, still having some trouble with IE though,
but i will get that stratened out to. But to get back to the defrag
thing, the last time I talked to the guy whom owens this thing, he told
me that when his defragment utility runs on it's weekly schedule it
just runs for a short time and then starts all over never completing
the job. Just taking a guess I wold say there is some program changing
data on the hard drive and reseting the defrag utility, maby the screen
saver? Anyway I thought if I could use the scheduler to boot the computer
in safe mode and then some how start the defrag utility this would solve
the problem. Looking back I can see that I did'nt put much thought into
this befor I posted my first msg, but I still think there should be some
way to fix this problem (maby at the link Rocketmech posted, which I
havent had a chance to check out yet, but I will. Thanks Rocketmech!)
Well I hope this clears up what I'm trying to do a bit.

    Thanks again, Kirbyal

Thanks Rocketmech for the link, I think that will work well. I manualy
installed the reg. file and re-booted. The defrag tool ran just fine,
not one reset. I got the internet explorer issue taken care of as well.
just a few more tweeks and I think this machine will be on it's way
home. Thank you much for the help.
