    Hot VCC

I bought a cheap PSU about 6 months ago and have since found out that it is responsible for most of my pc's temper tantrums. The voltages are always either too low or high. I tried to persevere as long as I could but today I noticed that 2 of the VCC pins in the power connector are so hot they are scorching the plastic of the plug. I'll be buying a quality PSU tomorrow and was just trying to warn others of the dangers of cheap PSU's and also hoping someone could tell me why this is happening.

    Thanks for your time.

You learned a good lesson, without paying the price...

Often, a PSU can take out the Vid Card/RAM/CPU or Mobo...

A good PSU can be had by Antec, Fortron, Sparkle and Enermax....

400W is a good number now a days, unless you have a killer PC with a ton of stuff in it!!

It could be that you just had a bad connection to the MB power header. I have seen it before. I replaced the connector with one from an older power supply.

Also when you say too high or too low, was it more then 5%
