First thing to do is dump that soundblaster card. That thing is an oldie nowadays. Pick up an Audigy 1 for $45.

That Geil Golden Dragon stuff sucks hardcore. I have 512MB or dual channel (PC3200 cas 2-2-2-6) and it wouldn't even run at 200Mhz at it's rated timings. So much for overclocking there... So I sent it back and got Kingston hyper-x instead.

oh yea, my mem is running at Cas 2 : 3-3-6 (200.3mhz)

That is an old pic, the core is now back to 200 mhz...all things are back to stock...but it still runs (even the CPU) faster than stock.

Do I count? I've got an eMachines M6807 with the mobile Athlon64 3000+. Two things I object to with it, but not willing to give up the laptop for, is the memory (speed and location of one of the memory slots) and the 4200 RPM hard drive. Other then that, the system runs fantastic. Just what I needed to take on deployment with me.

You can probly swap out that 4200 RPM drive.

You can pick up a 80gb for laptops some places..it might run alot in the pocket but its a big help for mobile.

I know, and I'm looking in about it. But I can't afford the cost right now. I've got a deployment coming up. But, upon my return I should have some funds saved up to get a few upgrades and maybe even finally build my Athlon64 desktop built. I've been holding out for the 939 sockets with dual channel memory to come out and the newer motherboards like the nVidia nForce3 250. Ok, I'll admit it. I'm waiting for the next Gen everything.. hehehe My next system has to fly and be able to thrash just about anything *ntel comes out with. It's going to be my last big dollar computer expense for a while since I promised the wife I wouldn't buy another laptop again for a while. I really wish that companies would get up off their duff's and get us the 64-bit drivers we need though. I've got the free beta and want to install it, but there's no drivers for any of my hardware. It kinda sucks...hehe. I can deal with 32-bit software running on a 64-bit OS. I just really want to try it. That's it for now all. Later!

Same here, i have the beta, iwant to run it, but nothing i have has a 64-bit driver. plus there is too many bugs in the beta (from the reviews i read) hopefully soon the Final will come out.

My 3400+ Thrashes many things, especially if u OC it.

Wait till the Prescott hit's 4ghz (later this year), than u'll see the Athlon64 in full force...!!!
