What is the best heatsink/fan combo?

I have a volcano 9 right now, but I need something with a little better cooling, but I an not really ready to go with water cooling. Opinions?

Thermalright hs with a thermaltake fan, or any other decent fan for that matter.

The thermalrights are pretty good, but the new coolermaster hyper6 is nice too. For a quieter system, you could get the Zalman CNPS7000A-Cu.

Quiet is out of the question on this comp. I have a total of 10 fans in it. So it sounds like a 747 taking off in my room. The fan speed controller comes in handy sometimes though.

I was actually thinking the thermalright slk-900 with a 92mm x38mm vantec tornado (119 cfm) What do you think about that?

You'll have that sometimes, but do you think that will cool my athlon mobile 2600 @ 2.5Ghz enough? I plan to try to take it to 2.7ghz if possible.

if that doesn't, then you might have to go to watercooling.

Why don't you get the SP97 with the heatpipes?

Why do you have 10 fans? That is overkill. Find a good balance between noise and temperatures. At first I had 6 fans in my comp and it sounded like a jet, you couldn't even sleep with the comp on. But then I started disconnecting fans one at a time and monitoring temps. Now I am down to 1 case fan, decent temps, never a temp related problem. Try it and enjoy a much quieter computer.

The Thermaltake Silent Boost will be a very good cooler for you.

5 here. It's not overly loud, but I could do away with a few fans.

I been using a Scythe Kamikaze. I just finished a screaming game of UT2003 and it was running at 41c.
