    Abit NF7-s and NF7 difference

What is the difference? Just the on-board sound?

I have a SB Live 5.1, if the only difference in the two is the advanced sound capabilities of the "S" version, then I will save the 30 bucks on the mainboard and get the NF7 2.0

Bear in mind that the Soundstorm is roughly equivalent ot a soundblaster audigy though and in that respect is well worth 30 and a step up from the SBLive!, in addition to the firewire/SATA features which may come in ahndy as technology progresses (personally ive yet to use my onboard firewire and i dont view SATA as any great shakes yet). That said if your not big on audio (like me, i still run 2.0 sound) you probably wont notice a world of difference between the live! and SS

Speaking from experience of Abit boards....always buy the most up-to-date of each model number.

I had a KT7 raid which was then updated to the KT7a. Unfortunately Abit neglected to iron out all the little glitches on the original.

Now I have the NF7s v2.0 and it's great. Make sure you update the BIOS asap or you may have problems with SATA/USB conflicts during boot-up though.

    Thanks! I actually got the NF7 2.0

It's a great board, and I really have no use for the sound or raid on the -S

The only thing I wonder about is the network chip,

    NF7 has the MCP

    NF7-S has the MCP-T

    What's the difference?
