Just bought a New Seagate.
I just bought a new Seagate 160 GB drive. I notice on the bottom the circuitry is showing...my previous drive had a cover over this. Should it have a cover? Or is this a new way hard drives are?

It is fine, plug it in and enjoy the drive capacity.

My SCSI HDDs have a cover around the media area but the PCA is visible.
Different designs use different techniques.
To assure yourself that everything is A-ok you can always have a look at the technical online manual if you are interested. When you do install and uninstall the HDD just be careful of the PCA.
