    They come off no problem if you know how. You should never pull up on a heatsink until it is loose. If you gently twist left and right for a few seconds it will shear from the heat of friction and pop right off. There is enough pins on a cpu to keep it stable. The actual amount of contact on the hsf with the cpu is very small compared to the surface area of the socket.
