    How can disable this?

    A couple days ago this wierd chirping sound came from my speakers ans this banner asking if wanted to use "filter keys" to press ok or cancel Since then can"t use periods or commas and my caps lock key is in reverse what can I do to remove this? t"s annoying to say the least thanks

    start -> settings -> control panel -> accessibility

    from there you can disable filter keys

    What it turned out to be...which is still kinda strange. My "shift" key was stuck on the down position. I don't now how it got jammed all the way into the board. I didn't notice it until I walked away from my pc. However, I cannot explain why the chirping sound telling me about "filter" keys came on. Thats the strange part. I just disabled that stuff. Thanks again.

    Yep. When you hold down Shift for about five seconds, you'll get that prompt asking whether to enable FilterKeys or not. When you're clicking OK there, you'll get that special key behavior intended for people who can't make full use of their hands.
