Im waiting for PCI-Express and the AMD64-FX to come down in price. I remember I bought and STB Velocity 128 for $400, complete waste of money. I can build a computer for less than that now.

6 months would be the outside, more likely 2 or 3 months.
Cheers!

Hail to the Victors
Nice system...baby should smoke!!
Problem is...it's already outdated...with the Pentium EE edition...
With that beast...I honestly wouldn't lose a wink over it...nice job!
That PC PWC 510 PSU is one helluva good looking piece of hardware.
I'm having a hard time swallowing the price of it...though...since my Antec 350W is chugging along without issue..
But...should it fail, I might make that investment.!

what's obsolete?
w/ the cpu ghz being up there so much It kinda makes me laugh when peple say there computer will be obsolete in six months. Short of hard core gamers the only thing that might get dated is the video card. someone needs to tell game makers to stop w/ the rediculious requirements for some of the new games. plain old Quake II engine is good enough for me

Outdated yesterday. Usable for many years yet.
I'm still running an AMD 1.4 Tbird with 512 PC133 RAM and 5400rpm disks and a GF4 Ti4200 and it still runs all the latest games, apps...
As I said, you buy "old" PC hardware when you enter the shop, but don't ever think it's wasteful - ultimately you use what you buy.

My opinion of obsolite is when a computer no longer can run the software you wish not when something newer comes out.

As technology increases, prices will come down. In 1970 I paid $65.00 for a 4 function CALCULATOR. Now they give them away as prizes in Crackerjacks.
In 1970 my company paid $65,000.00 for a HP computer with a Cad program to make "D" drawings. This bad boy had 8 mb of ram. WOW!
