    onboard video adapter

I have a compaq 5050 with onboard video. I am trying to install a new video card, a geforce2. I disabled the original video adapter in device manager, installed the new card, but now my computer thinks it has two monitors for some reason.
I tried disabling one or the other monitor, but no luck. I have a game that I can't get installed because it says I need at least 800x640.
Thats why i got the new card. I guess it is somehow seeing the old video card and thinking that the resolution can't go above 600x480.
I tried removing both monitors from device manager and rebooting, but it reinstalls two monitors every time.

what OS are you running? if its win9x, try changing the onboard video driver to standard vga.
