That tingle on your tongue when you drink any carbonated soft-drink is caused by the carbon dioxide reacting to your saliva and creating carbonic acid.
So, that delightful tingle is actually your tongue, mouth and throat being slightly eaten away by acid

It will do the same to your teeth as well
