How do I run Internet Connection Sharing?
Both PC win98SE. Installed Internet Connection Sharing on both PC. Then what's next? Should I connect to internet first the first PC (dialup modem)? How do I access internet connection on the other PC? Both have ICS icon in the system tray.

Only one needs ICS installed.
The other is just setup to connect through it.
You can use the ICS client wizard on that one or set it up manually!

Yes. I remember going thru it before just to know it and escaped the diskette option. How do I run this again?

It is easy. that's why we don't want to have to type it out over and over again.

windows connection sharing doesnt really manage bandwidth well, you usually end up with one pc having all the bandwidth and one not having any, i suggest running a proxy server on your dialup machine.

The link provided would be great if I could read it. Must be my pc. Boxes of text on top of text. GRRH! I don't have or need a networked system but a friend has asked if I could figure out how to connect their XP system and WIN98SE. I assume the WIN XP would need to be the host pc. (using a cable connection).

I have this problem as well.
Will setting up a proxy server solve that problem?
Some days wifes computer (which connects via a switch so my computer must be online) gets great bandwidth 400k
while other times she gets a lousy 55k connection while i get like 400-500k.
Is setting up a proxy server the answer?
thanks.
Lost 10,000 miles from home and loving it!!
