    Monitor Gone URRRgggghhhh

    I have an OLD PC with Win 95 4gb HD 64ram.
    (NOT MY MAIN PC)

    Unfortunately the monitor has now lost all its colour and turned Green. Anyone know what the diagnosis is. Could I reformat the HD (HOW ??)

    and clean install XP ??

    Sounds like the Red and Blue guns may be gone in the monitor.

    And no, formatting won't fix this problem.

    mONITOR PROBS

    Hmmmm Thanks Vernon.

    I thought that but I tried another Monitor that is OK and still got the same prob. Do these 'GUNS' reside in the monitor or in the HD?

    The guns are in the monitor. Have you tried this monitor on another machine? If so, is it OK there?

    If it's OK on another machine, your video card may be on it's way out. Has nothing to do with the HDD. Try checking the pins on the cable connector, see if ones bent possibly.

    The guns are in the monitor.
    If the same monitor cable was used , try another. Be sure you have a good connection.
    Might check to see if the vga card has a color curve adjustment that may have been tampered with. It will be in the Display Properties, Settings, Advanced.
    If these tips don't help, it would appear the vga card has gone bad or needs reinstalling.
