    Drivers needed

Hi Guys, I am looking for drivers for an HP Pavillion 500
sound/video and what ever else I may need after reformatting the HD.. I have no restore cd as It is a friends PC.

I have searched around and can't seem to find any.

    Thanks in advance

    icky!

I spent many hours finding the dirvers for a sound/modem/gaming port for a Pavilion once... not fun....

Anyways try www.driverguide.com (you will have to register to d/l the drivers) Yuo will need to find the product # of your card as that is what most of the drivers are assigned by, HP website was absolutely no help for me. My card was a riptide audio something or other.

Since there are no audio drivers listed at HP, I must assume that XP has the drivers already.

You do NOT need to format the drive. Just reinstall WinXP to the same location.

500 is the series, not the model from what I can remember. you need to press f10 as the system is booting up to access the recovery partition. if you were foolish enough to totally remove all partitions, then you're gonna have to either buy a set of recovery cds or buy a winxp.

i just did a full reformat and installed xp pro on my hp pavillion 500 and for audio driver i just installed the realtec drivers from download .com and it worked just fine.
it's a shame that hp does not provide this driver to there customers.
