Did you try THIS yet? Something similar had been done at a company I worked for that actually had an IBM OS/2 client on Windows 95/98 machines. You could NOT bypass the logon screen.

well not giving too many secrets away here, reboot, enter screensaver, change password. As secure as windows XP, the most secure windows ever.

    couple other ways too.

I put 1 Click & Lock on my wife's computer at work and it's the best I've used so far. You can't even open the 1 click program without the password. It locks it after up and you can just click the icon in the task bar befor you walk away and it locks it again.

Cheers, gbpec7, all good stuff this is.

Cwin, bios protection is great. Just don't let anyone take your battery out for a couple of minutes.

Out of curiosity, did that reg-hack work? I haven't had to mess with 98 in a while, but it'd be nice to know the outcome in case I ever have to do it myself.

    speaking of end user gags...

I work at Circuit City and one of our guys likes to put up and all Blue B/G as the wallpaper and then auto hide the task bar...

I know a couple of times I walked up to a laptop thinking it was frozen..

    Hola,

This is a product we use to secure Win98SE environments, might be heavy duty for what your looking for, but it does allow SysAdmin's to reel in users.

Be advised, some portions of this product could infringe on the Personal Privacy Act, you need to notify the users that you are monitoring them. It's illegal to do this unless you have a proper User Policy for Corporate Customers in effect.

I know it's been a while, but moved into a porta cabin so it was harder for them to mess about with stuff, Anyway, did the no logon registry edit and it works like a charm, almost loads the desktop, which is weird and then drops back to logon screen.

Cheers one an d all and soz for delay.
