    CD Killers Protection ID

I am looking to back up some of my PC games.

I downloaded Protection ID 4.0 to scan for protection.

It was an RAR file so I downloaded "unRAR" and used it to open the RAR file.

Most of it opened but the Protection ID.exe file is password protected!!!

Does anyone know why this maybe?
Does anyone know where I can find the password?

It was shareware so I dont know why they would password protect it in the first place.

Any assistance would be appreciated, Thanks

first thing, backing up your data is fine, but be very careful when you ask on here. The staff while appearing anal, are upholding the values of the sites owner.

Backing up a modern PC is nigh on impossible due to all the protection that is offered on the CD's unless you know exactly what you are doing and have the perfect Software/Hardware combo. It really isn't worth the time nor the effort.

Having said that, EDITED OUT is a good place to start reading about encryptions so that you may backup the releases you own. It does make interesting reading - the alogortihm's are quite astounding.
