    Quake 3 AMD optimized DLLs

i recently discovered a program that allegedly makes an AMD run alot faster in quake, i dont know how to verify this only through the ingame fps meter, before the install i was playing at 250 fps which is wuts is expected from my sys (xp2100@2700speeds w/9500 pro) now im playing at close to 400 fps solid i cant explain if this is a hoax or not the author says these dlls force quake to use the SSE extensions instead of 3dnow. well heres the link please post bak ure findings
